Kslackcheck keeps in sync changelogs and shows updates in a graphical
popup in KDE, with just one click.
It can tell users what packages in need to be upgraded for major
releases, and helps to download them to a particular directory ready for manual upgrading.

prtpacker (Portable Resource Tree Packer, pronounced PIRT-Packer) is a tool for creating C or C++ source code from external program resources such as images, text, or data. These resources can be arranged in a tree structure much like a typical file system. After compiling and linking the resulting source code you can access the resource tree from within your software through a simple API. Be aware that all resources stay in memory and cannot be easily deallocated.

Colonist is a meta-distribution that exploits existing live CD Linux distributions by adapting them to the coLinux platform.
Get-NonFree-NonUS allows you to automatically
download non-free and/or non-US packages from a
Debian GNU/Linux server and generate an unofficial
CDROM/DVD image. You can freely choose release,
arch, and server. Proxies are supported.
The aim of the UpCase Installer is to ease the
management of Web sites using PHP applications.
This software is specifically targeting people who
don't have the knowledge required to handle the
process of installation and of the configuration
of such applications. The UpCase Installer is
based on the well-known concept of software
distribution at the scale of a Web site, and
allows (un)installation of packaged applications
distributed by a central repository.
SuSE-Get is a small tool for downloading packages for the SuSE
distribution from SuSE's FTP server. It is most handy when you don't
have the CDs around or are working on a remote server. It supports
searching for filenames (e.g., you can tell it to install Apache, and
it will ask whether you would like to install apache-1.3 or
apache2-2.0). It does not support dependency checking, but for
everyone who knows how to use the RPM command, it will be very handy.
DPHYS is aimed at creating an installer for
(re-)installing many Debian Linux systems with
Debian 3.1 (sarge) without having to baby-sit the
interactive installer for an hours time for each
machine. This program requires a network to run,
as it will load all floppies (appart from the
first 2) and all packages from the network. It
presently can only use configuration from DHCP;
static IP is not supported. The floppy images can
also be obtained from the network via PXE/TFTP,
avoiding any removable media.
forceupgrade recursively installs or upgrades
NetBSD packages. Amazingly there is no
"pkg_upgrade" tool in NetBSD 1.6, so this does
what you'd expect it to do. It is useful for
installing or upgrading massive package-trees with
lots of dependencies and possible conflicts, such
as GNOME or KDE.
transitmount is simple rack/removable hard disk management. It mounts partitions not mentioned in fstab, by volume name if available, without needing root intervention. It is intended for desktop machines, either run by unprivileged users or people who often swap hard disks.
This is the "progress" utility from NetBSD, ported
to Linux and Solaris. The progress utility allows
the file I/O of progresses to be monitored. It
includes support for gzip-compressed files, so
"progress -z -f file.tar.gz tar xf -" would show
the progress of extracting file.tar.gz.

AntInstaller is a flexible front end for deploying
applications using Ant build files as the engine.
It provides a Swing GUI and a command line
alternative for situations (such as server
deployment) when X is not available. The installer
is designed by creating an XML config file that
describes the various pages of the installer and
the input required from the user. The input is
validated and can be dates, directories, options
selected from a list, or other structured input.
Once the properties are selected, AntInstaller
runs and calls the selected targets. Primarily, it
is designed for installing Java apps in a
user-friendly way, but can be used for anything
that requires structured input for Ant scripts.
lphdisk is a Linux utility to prepare hibernation partitions for use on laptops with Phoenix NoteBIOS. This utility is not needed to use the Suspend-To-Disk feature. It allows one to create a valid hibernation partition without having to boot to DOS and use the buggy PHDISK.EXE utility. This is especially useful after resizing/moving partitions or drives, or after adding system RAM to a laptop.
