Dillo Web browser is a very fast, extremely small Web browser that's written in C and C++. The source is around 600 KB, and the static binary is about 980KB. It is a graphical browser built upon FLTK-1.3, and it renders a good subset of HTML and CSS, excluding frames, JavaScript, and JVM support.

This version comes with an improved parser. The
block/inline container model information is now an
essential part of the parser. This improves both
bug detection in the bug-meter and the rendering
of HTML pages. Dillo now is able to detect and
offer a download dialog when a clicked URL is not
viewable. Several glitches of the previous release
were also fixed. This version is no longer
considered alpha, but very stable beta.

The dpi framework was redesigned. Communications
are now done with a daemon: dpid. Some new plugins
are included: downloads, ftp, hello. This release
also introduces the bug-meter: a button that shows
the count of detected HTML errors in a page, also
providing the line where they occur and a hint of
how to solve them. It's intended to help making
standards-compliant Web sites. A context menu for
images, a Web-search dialog, the "-geometry"
switch in the CLI, lots of improvements in the
internal widget system, portability enhancements,
and bugfixes were also added.
