FreeVMS is an OpenVMS-like operating system which
can run on several architectures like i386, PPC,
Alpha, and many others. It consists of a POSIX
kernel and a DCL command line interpreter. The
only architectures currently supported are i386
and x86-64.

Bliss is now version 0.211. The terminal driver
needed its own spinlocks. The Sys$qiow system
service did not do everything from the right mode.
Exe$forkdpsth did not set proper ipl. Ioc$iopost
lost irps posted on the non-primary CPU due to the
softint running on the primary CPU; exe$finishio
and exe$abortio were changed. Exe$finishio and
exe$abortio did not set proper ipl. RMS file
resources got used up, now file descriptor
reference count is added. Ioc$iopost remqhi had
problems with spinlocks, so it was changed to
global_cli. Memory management look_aside_list
needed spinlocks.

The sysman utility uses io load, but no practical
driver is loaded yet. The driver interface now
bears a closer resemblance to the one from VMS
(and the mailbox driver uses it). Disk device
naming was changed, so where partition 1 and 2
were called dqa1 and dqa2, now they are called
dqa001 and dqa002. The backup utility had a gets
buffer overflow vulnerability. The CLI routines
and analyze/system examine had a number handling
problem. The getdvi return length was missing, and
a fix was made for return length size. Instability
due to some pte zeroing in p1pp initialization was
fixed.

Iociopost did not change qast postef order when
having PCB current state. Spinlocks were missing
when allocting pfns. The terminal driver and
locking were fixed. A new spinlock for interlocked

driver terminator can handle xon and xoff marks.
Some I/O locks were temporaly moved due to global
I/O database. A new ODS2 VFS driver for Linux is
available.
