K3b is a CD and DVD burning application for Linux systems optimized for KDE. It provides a comfortable user interface to perform most CD/DVD burning tasks, such as creating an audio CD from a set of audio files or copying a CD. While the experienced user can influence all steps of the burning process, the beginner may find comfort in the automatic settings and the reasonable defaults which allow a quick start. The actual burning is done by the command line utilities cdrecord, cdrdao, and growisofs.

This release ignores dock config from K3b versions older than 0.12. It will not delete the DVD project ISO image if "remove image" is unchecked. It properly loads multi-session default settings, updates device selection boxes when devices are added or removed via HAL, and properly cancels DVD project writing. DVD+RW session import has been fixed.

This release shows the configured splash screen image instead of
the default, fixes eMovix 0.9 default settings handling, imports
"session: disable RockRidge" if the previous session does not contain RR
extensions, fixes the --cdimage parameter, changes the max copies from
99 to 999, improves the session importation dialog, properly defaults
to the DVD size in the Video DVD project, ignores K3b Themes that do
not follow the new filename scheme, and fixes automatic multisession
handling for DVD+RW media, handbook installation, and the HAL backend
(devices are properly removed now).

This release ejects the source DVD when reader and writer device are the same. A problem with very slow data verification has been fixed. Support has been added for newer transcode versions. The MP3 decoder plugin handles errors in MP3 files better.
