Alpha output in Targa, a better Antialias scheme, QMC for several lights and AA, a fast Fresnel formula, wood procedural texture, marble procedural texture, Targa texture import, new sunsky parameters, a normal image background, HDRI image background, a Debian package build system, bump mapping, first shading blocks for a modular shader editing tool, a per face shader, bugfixes, and a still unstable OS X package.
The core has been sped up. Spotlight, gamma correction, fog, procedural sky, and pathlight were added as new methods for computing global illumination.
Hemilight was improved with better sampling code to save time. Photonlight now uses fewer photons to get a better and faster result. Adaptive antialiasing has been improved. The code now compiles with g++ 3.2 and uses single precision by default, which makes it a bit faster. The Windows version now works with threads. It is now possible to use yable to export from blender.
Mosix complaint code was improved, and now supports compression for network transfers. A shadowmap bug was fixed, and a new "include" tag was added to the file format so you can split your scene in several files.
This release adds compile fixes, shadowmap light support, multicpu
support using pthreads, support for compressed scene files, photon
mapping improvements, radiosity based on photons, antinoise and DOF
filters, a big raytracing optimization, antialias, hemilight
(skylight), sunlight, and several bugfixes.
