On the one hand, it is a little cool and I use it when writing out new functions, on the other hand it's not strictly needed, it would free up the == symbol for other use, and the Prolog code already does without it.
I'd like to use the same defs.txt file for all implementations (Python, Prolog, and beyond... There should be implementations in most languages.)
