Since the release of 2.2, there are some important bugfixes and other small additions to the API which are not part of the new features planned for 2.3. All of these are packaged in this minor release.
Most of the changes are bugfixes, but there are also a couple of important new features. The most important addition to this release is the landscape modes and the new way of handling softkeys.
This release adds new sample code and
applications, an xHTML module that
allows the creation of mobile browsers and GUIs
based on xHTML, better
javadoc, and a set of utility classes for logging,
internationalization,
and more.
The alpha3 release is available on the SourceForge
SVN. This release includes bugfixes both on the
core of the engine and on the browser component.
The browser is now synchronized and can send the
events generated inside a page to an external
listener. There are two new animation classes: one
for displaying popup windows and one for animating
softkey buttons. There are speed improvements
through out the source. Cookie support was
improved. Images within a page are now cached.
