This version fixes a nasty bug in the initial
mapping of split which was causing a crash or
messed up graphics in all ROMs of a given size.
The license has also been simplified to a
combination of the GPL and a modified BSD license.
The screenshot feature has been added again, and
the feature for unzipping on the fly was enhanced.
This version added support for hardware accelerated rendering and netplay and partial support for arcade cards (some games are playable). It also features rewritten documentation, joypad and keyboard configuration in the graphical interface, and a new graphical engine. Developers can now manipulate the internal variables at run time to create custom plugins. US ROMs are now auto-deteced, some bugs were fixed, and support for big-endian CPUs was added. The program is now mainly licensed under the GPL (some parts use the mBSD and zlib license).
This version includes a real GTK GUI and some major PC engine code rewrites, such as graphics rendering and sound support (stereo mode was added). The CD emulation has been vastly improved, and Arcade card games are now partially supported.
This version removes all legacy code using Allegro to prefer SDL. It also contains enhanced sound and synchronization engines. CD support has been reintroduced.
All allegro references have been removed to switch to SDL. Some features have been temporary disabled: sound, CD support, on the fly menus, and throttle limitation. However, it's fully usable.
