This time only the XL (LiveDVD) version is available for download. It contains kernel 2.6.18, glibc 2.5, gcc 4.1, GNOME 2.16, Firefox/Thunderbird 2, the latest InitNG, and over 1400 packages.
Many improvements have been made since preview2.
This release includes InitNG, Xorg 7.0, kernel
2.6.15, udev 0.81, etcnet, Tango icons, and new
coldplug/hotplug. Booting the LiveCD has been made
faster. There are two versions: L (LiveCD) which
contains GNOME 2.12 and Xfce 4.2, and XL (LiveDVD)
which also contains the latest Enlightenment 17
and Matchbox desktop environments and lots of
other software.
Over 30 bugs have been fixed. The main changes are new X autoconfiguration and support for Gnome System Tools (easy graphical configuration, e.g. network).
The LiveCD now contains Linux kernel 2.6.11, GNOME
2.10, XFCE 4.2, and full development libraries and
headers for gcc 3.4.x. So it is now possible to
compile programs (including GTK+ programs) when
running the LiveCD. squashfs and unionfs are used,
and over 2100MB of software is included.
LiveCD is now fully separated from other CDs. The kernel is 2.6.5. The
authors have switched from XFree86 to the X.Org implementation with
freedesktop XLIBS. Many bugs have been fixed and many improvements have
been added.
