Loook searches for text strings in OpenOffice.org (and StarOffice 6.0 or later) files. AND, OR, and phrase searches are supported. It doesn't create an index, but searching should be fast enough, unless you have very many files.

ooo-macro is a toolkit for LibreOffice, OpenOffice.org, or StarOffice that includes macros written in StarBasic, associated shortcuts, the template SPECIAL, and a Perl script. libwpd is a library designed to help process WordPerfect documents. It exposes a simple callback-based API (similar to SAX), allowing it to be easily plugged into any C or C++ application.

It is used by recent versions of AbiWord and OpenOffice.org to provide WordPerfect file import.

OpenOffice.org Quickstarter is a small application
that runs in the KDE SystemTray. It is used to
quickly start the different OpenOffice.org modules
without having to go through the K-Menu. Instead
of just starting of applications, you can also
select multiple files in the usual opendialog
provided by KDE to open them in OpenOffice.org,
use a history of recently opened files, configure
the app to do one of the above described functions
on a simple double click, and use the app to keep
a hidden instance of OpenOffice.org in memory to
achieve much shorter startup times of the
OpenOffice.org modules.
