The C++ Portable Types Library (PTypes) is a simple alternative to the STL that includes multithreading and networking. It defines dynamic strings, character sets, variants, lists and other basic data types along with threads, synchronization primitives and IP sockets. It is portable across modern Unix and Windows systems and includes a sample HTTP daemon showing the full power of the library.
Hoard is a scalable memory allocator (malloc replacement) for
multithreaded applications. Hoard can dramatically improve your
application's performance on multicore machines. No changes to your
source are necessary; just link it in. Hoard scales linearly up to at
least 64 processors. Supported platforms include Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, and
Windows.

Perdition is a fully featured POP3 and IMAP4 proxy server. It is able to handle both SSL and non-SSL connections and redirect users to a real-server based on a database lookup. Perdition supports modular based database access. The distribution ships with modules for ODBC, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GDBM, POSIX Regular Expression, and NIS. The API for modules is open, allowing abitary modules to be written to allow access to any data store. Perdition can be used to create large mail systems where an end-user's mailbox may be stored on one of several hosts, to integrate different mail systems together, to migrate between different email infrastructures, and to bridge plain-text, SSL, and TLS services. It can also be used as part of a firewall.
The Glasgow Haskell Compiler is a robust, fully-featured, optimising compiler for the functional programming language Haskell. GHC compiles Haskell to either native code or C. It implements numerous experimental language extensions to Haskell for example concurrency, a foreign language interface, several type-system extensions, exceptions, and so on. GHC comes with a generational garbage collector, a space and time profiler, and a comprehensive set of libraries.

dvd+rw-tools makes it possible to burn DVD images
created by "dvdauthor" or "mkisofs" to DVD+R,
DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW disks, replacing
"cdrecord-proDVD" in many cases. The package
contains "growisofs" to burn DVD images or create a
data DVD on the fly, "dvd+rw-format" to format a
DVD+RW, "dvd+rw-mediainfo" to give details about
DVD disks, and some programs to control the write
speed and obtain information from DVD-RAM.
