Dmidecode reports information about your system's
hardware as described in your system BIOS
according to the SMBIOS/DMI standard. This
information typically includes system
manufacturer, model name, serial number, BIOS
version, asset tag, and a lot of other details of
varying level of interest and reliability,
depending on the manufacturer. This will often
include usage status for the CPU sockets,
expansion slots and memory module slots, and the
list of I/O ports.

Open HPI is an open source project created to provide an open implementation of the SA Forum's Hardware Platform Interface (HPI). It provides a universal interface for Platform Management, including hardware sensor monitoring and control.

v4l-utils is a collection of various video4linux (V4L) and DVB utilities. libv4l is an accompanying collection of libraries that adds a thin abstraction layer on top of video4linux2 (V4L2) devices. The purpose of this layer is to make it easy for application writers to support a
wide variety of devices without having to write separate code for different devices in the same class. It consists of 3 different libraries. libv4lconvert offers functions to convert from any (known) pixel format to V4l2_PIX_FMT_BGR24 or V4l2_PIX_FMT_YUV420. libv4l1 offers the (deprecated) v4l1 API on top of v4l2 devices, independent of the drivers for those devices
supporting v4l1 compatibility (which many v4l2 drivers do not). libv4l2 offers the v4l2 API on top of v4l2 devices, while adding support for the application transparent libv4lconvert conversion where necessary.

wavemon is a ncurses-based monitor for wireless devices. It allows you to watch
the signal and noise levels, packet statistics, device configuration, and
network parameters of your wireless network hardware. It has currently only
been tested with the Lucent Orinoco series of cards, although it should work
(with varying features) with all devices supported by the wireless kernel
extensions written by Jean Tourrilhes.

Razercfg is a Razer device configuration tool. It is based on "razerd", a background daemon doing all of the low-level privileged hardware accesses. The user interface tools are "razercfg", a command-line tool, and "qrazercfg", a Qt-based graphical device configuration tool. Supported devices are the Razer DeathAdder (Classic, 3500DPI, and Black Edition) mouse, the Razer Krait mouse, the Razer Lachesis mouse, the Razer Copperhead mouse, the Razer Naga mouse, the Razer Boomslang CE mouse and the Razer Taipan mouse.

GroundWork Monitor Community Edition can give you insight into your computing infrastructure, allowing you to see the current and historical states of all your computers: servers, desktops, and laptops, all of your network devices, all of your services (like TCP/IP and Web services), and all of your applications (like mail servers and database apps). You can choose to be alerted when something goes awry via pager, SMS, email, or phone, and even set up automatic restarts or fall-overs.

Concordance supports programming Logitech Harmony remote controls from a variety of platforms. This software provides most of the functionality of the Windows software provided by Logitech, but is much smaller and cross-platform.

Smart Card ToolKit provides a library and
associated tools for smart cards. Phoenix and
Smartmouse protocols are supported for ISO7816
asynchronous smart card access and debugging. JDM
is supported for programming PIC-based smart cards
like piccard, goldwafer (goldcard), and
silvercard. SPI is supported for programming AVR
based smart cards (funcard). PIC and AVR loaders
provide access to external i2c EEPROM. I2c memory
smart cards are also supported. All tools use
Intel hex file format to store data. An Intel hex
to binary and vice-versa converting tool is also
provided.

MTX is a set of programs for controlling tape
drives and the robotic mechanism of autoloaders
and tape libraries.
